About the Role
You will be working as Senior Data Analytics Engineer, closely collaborating with the team and partners across the organisation.

Jointly, we are contributing to our overall delivery and success of the Swiss Re Institute product portfolio with the purpose to translate foresight, research, market intelligence and sustainability initiatives into risk insights and build new commercial capabilities.

In your role you are responsible to:
- Lead data & analytics projects and partner with our business functions and senior management
- Design, build and maintain data pipelines and impactful data products in close cooperation with users and business owners
- Ensure solutions are developed and implemented following standards, using high-quality code, focusing on simplicity, performance and maintainability
- Analyse data, identify issues, build sophisticated functions and scripts
- Work within one or more scrum teams

About the Team
We build and deliver ground-breaking and robust technological capabilities to generate data-driven insights and best fit tech applications for the Swiss Re Institute consisting of Research, Engagement & Sustainability and Group Economic & Sigma Research departments. Being the link between research and applied R&D, the team drives exploitation and innovation to transfer selected capabilities into impactful and value adding data solutions.

While most of your peers and key partners are based in Zurich with representation in Bratislava in Bangalore, the team is composed of an international workforce based in different locations and serving a global customer basis.

Information about the selection process

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 2000 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group.

Personality requirements and skills

About You
We are seeking a hardworking person with excellent data engineering skills and proficient in Python. You have expertise in distributed computing frameworks, Spark is a must have with others being an advantage.

- hands-on experience working with CI/CD processes for data as well as data testing and monitoring
- knowledge on system design, data structures, algorithms, storage systems, and cloud infrastructure
- strong understanding of data modelling and data architecture concepts
- strong analytical skills and eagerness to fully understand a subject domain
- excellent verbal and written communication skills, being able to describe sophisticated technical concepts and results in a clear and detailed manner to non-technical audiences
- good command of English, the knowledge of other languages is an asset

You are a quick learner and eager to explore the unknown with an ability to build good working relationships with business partners. You are motivated to work optimally in diverse teams with both technical and non-technical individuals where you act as connector between business and data.

You enjoy teamwork with the ability to take ownership, be self-reliant and business value oriented while paying attention to detail.

- Experience in Palantir Foundry and Azure
