About the role

As Senior Governance & Risk Manager you are responsible to contribute to an end-to-end risk oversight of the operational risks in Corporate Real Estate & Services (CRES). In your role, you will work closely with Group Operational Risk Management, the regional Risk & Governance experts from CRES, Compliance and Audit.
You will engage in global issues and events as well as key projects and provide a risk opinion to the discussion. You have an end-to-end understanding of key processes, interfaces, and evaluate these from a Risk and Governance perspective and provide guidance and advise to your stakeholders. You contribute to the residual risk assessment and perform regular risk assessments.

You will be part of the Business Management team and be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
• Coordinating between functions teams, the Assurance Functions (Operational Risk Management, Compliance and Group Internal Audit) and other stakeholders.
• Operational Risk management oversight of all CRES division related activities, including creating detailed Operational Event and Issue reports with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), charts and analysis. • Actively contribute to the risk reporting to the CRES Executive Committee and other governance forums.
• Having a strong understanding of the functions key processes, systems, and related operational risk.
• Supporting the CRES teams in their risk identification and support the resolution of related operational risks and issues.
• Ensure the key risks and controls are identified and assessed, including creating and maintaining control descriptions in line with Group ORM (Operational Risk Management) methodology and tools in close collaboration with control owners and align it with all CRES departments.
• Providing guidelines, training, and informing departments on all Governance and Risk Management tasks/topics where necessary.
• Support Swiss Re's risk culture framework and contribute to the Key-Risk-Taker and Divisional Control Related Behaviour performance.

Personality requirements and skills

• Min. 5 years of proven experience in operational risk management, audit or similar roles, with a solid understanding of risks & controls.
• University degree in Legal, Business Administration or Economics considered an advantage.
• Proficiency in English (German of advantage).
• Knowledge of the real estate business is an advantage.
• Strong command of the Microsoft Suite, especially Power Point, Excel, and Word.
• Experienced in preparing presentations, leading senior management meetings, and acting as a change agent / ability to influence.
• Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead difficult discussions constructively.

You are able to work independently with limited direction and be flexible to deal with change in a fast paced and new environment, working closely with peers where operational risk subject matter expertise is required.
You are independent and critical thinker, willing to challenge constructively and assertively, with a can-do attitude, curious and keen to learn.
You are a team player listens well and is willingness to actively share knowledge and experience within and across teams and develops trust from all parties and creates / exhibits enthusiastic ownership for team purpose and objectives.
You have an ability to be self-managed, to break-down complexity into manageable elements and initiate and drive tasks or projects appropriately.
